Acknowledgements:
If selected, the Contestant acknowledges that there are risks of personal injury, illness, possible loss of life, and risks of damage to or loss of personal property, which may result from participating in the Oremfest Food Eating Contests (“contest”). Contestant voluntarily enters the contest and assumes all of these risks. Contestant, and anyone entitled to act on Contestant's behalf, as a condition of entry, agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Orem its officers, elected officials, employees, committee members, and volunteers, and the Oremfest Committee and its officers and volunteers (collectively “the indemnified parties”) from any and all claims and costs, including attorneys’ fees, arising from or in connection with participation in this contest or the receipt or use of any prize. In no event shall the indemnified parties be liable to the Contestant for acts or omissions arising out of or related to the contest or that Contestant’s participation in the contest.
If selected, Contestant gives permission for the use of his/her name and photograph in connection with this contest and for the City of Orem’s use thereafter. Contestant also acknowledges that he/she has read, understands, and will abide by the rules of this contest listed above.
By signing this Oremfest Food Eating Contest Release and Waiver of Liability (“Release & Waiver”), Contestant acknowledges that he/she has read and understands the conditions set forth in this Release & Waiver and that Contestant agrees to all conditions set forth herein, and that Contestant signs this Release & Waiver voluntarily.
